Here’s a quick little recipe for golden milk. I honestly just love the taste of this but there are apparently antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to the ingredients (turmeric). A lot of websites and blogs recommend using coconut oil to simmer the turmeric, cinnamon, and pepper in before adding the almond milk (on the stovetop). But I don’t like the extra calories coconut oil adds. They recommend this because it apparently helps the turmeric properties absorb into your body better.
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- pinch Black Pepper to activate properties of turmeric.
- 8 oz Almond Milk
- 2 tsp Splenda (or other sweetener of choice)
- Measure out turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and sweetener and place into the bottom of mug.
- Pour in the almond milk.
- Microwave for two minutes.OR place all ingredients in a sauce pan and heat on the stove top. Let ingredients simmer together for at least five minutes.
